HypnoBirthing® has made it's way into hospitals, birthing centers and homes around the world.
It’s a cutting edge, comprehensive, FUN childbirth education program
that teaches expectant couples to view birth for what it truly is: a natural, normal, safe and healthy part of life that is to be celebrated; instead of just the scary emergency situation so commonly portrayed on TV! The HypnoBirthing® method teaches parents the truth about birth; that in the absence of fear and tension, childbirth is safer, healthier, shorter, easier and even totally enjoyable. In the simplest terms, here’s exactly how HypnoBirthing works: When you’re confident, relaxed and free from fear, your cervix and uterus will work in perfect harmony; just as they were designed to. You, your body and your baby will all be working together, instead of against each other. Any woman can easily learn how to achieve this kind of confident relaxation for a calm, serene and comfortable birth, and when she does, she will experience birth as "Enjoy-Accept-Relax", as opposed to "Fear-Tension-Pain".
This isn’t theory; I’ve personally had not one, but three, short, easy, safe and very healthy home births- all thanks to HypnoBirthing. I’ve also witnessed innumerable amazing HypnoBirths during my career as a Doula and midwives assistant.
When you have your baby with HypnoBirthing®, you won’t be in a trance or asleep. What you’ll experience is similar to the daydreaming, or focusing, that occurs when you’re engrossed in a really good book or movie or just staring into a fire. You’ll be conversant and in good spirits; relaxed, aware and fully in control. In this calm state, your body naturally releases large amounts of "beta-endorphin"; a hormone that is even stronger than morphine, and brings about feelings of euphoria and pleasure. Even better, your body will also release massive amounts of "oxytocin"; the hormone of love and bonding.
The female body is intelligently, specifically and perfectly designed to birth easily, gently and calmly. Childbirth is a natural, normal, safe biological function.
It’s so unfortunate that from the earliest ages, young people in our society are inundated with such negative stories of other women’s birth experiences. Everyone- family members, friends and even strangers, wants to tell them the horrors of giving birth and the media does an exceptional job at portraying it as frightening and painful. As a result, we’ve practically come to EXPECT labor to hurt, for things to go wrong and for it to be scary. The irony is that this fear and anxiety cause your body to release adrenaline and other stress hormones which make muscles contract, blood pressure shoot up and your “fight of flight” instincts to kick in. Obviously, this is the last thing a woman needs when she’s trying to birth her baby. So, the result is exactly what you feared most; long, painful birthing and unnecessary medical interventions. The good news is, this negative programming can be easily, totally reversed, and when it is, birth is peaceful, gentle and easy... the way is was meant to be.
